oh, you are right, they have a little bit more noise... interesting,
i must have overseen it.
i think comparing schoeps to the mkh30/40 is a good comparison, as
they are similar in price.
and i have to say, i compared 2 neumann km140 against two mkh40.
the result was very clear.
forget the neumann mic for really quiet recordings, they are WAY too
noisy.
you won=B4t get too happy trying to record some quiet ambiance with
those mics..
(but thats nothing new for you nature recording folks...:-))
