>>>>Does anyone archive directly to external hard drives? I have all my recordings backed up on several 120-300 gig external hard drives. I keep a set at my sons house in case mine burns down! Is it better to keep things on many, many CDs or DVDs? My best, john John V. Moore Nature Recordings>>>> I try to buy as many hard drives as I can John, I find the western digital to be a reliable drive but yes, I back-up to numerous drives and CD/DVD. In this day of digital age you can't be too careful. My analogue tapes are re-digitalized and archived, with over 35 years of recordings one cant be too cautious.
