Three months ago I was recording late night thunder on a lakeside rooftop in Pokhara, Nepal. The mic was up on its stand and I was 15m away, setting up the recorder. Something caught my eye and I looked around just in time to see an owl descending on the furry Rycote windjammer - wings spread wide and talons ready. It got to within 60cm, then pulled up and took off. All in absolute silence, like a ghost... - Greg Simmons |
