Let's stop the flame war here. I understand criticism, but as in so many=
thing phrasing is key. It's possible to criticize without getting
personal. It's best done by leaving out comments about people and
discussing the data in a dispassionate way.
There has been a lot of controversy over the Cornell report on the
Ivory-bill. The Auburn/Windsor group has produced additional evidence
including recordings. There are fairly large number of them on Dan
Mennill's website. Their paper clearly states how they made them and how
they interpreted them. One of the good things is that they have laid it
all out for people to see. Other people may present alternative
interpretations, and they may think that the evidence is weak. I wouldn't=
be surprised by that. But, the Auburn/Windsor group have not claimed
proof, and, I think, have presented their results in a reasonable -- not
overdrawn -- manner. It is certainly strong enough to support continuing
the search in Florida.
Personally, I remain hopeful about the Ivory-bill.
