Hi all: I have a noise from static charge issue with my Sony MZ-RH10. I had it set up like this: RH10<RollsPB224<RodeNT1As with the RH10 and the pb224 inside a vinyl drybag. While in rec/pause, I reached into the drybag to reposition equipment and could hear through the headphones a static crackle with any movement of the gear. This awoke me to the susceptibility of this setup to static charge. I experimented with the rh10 and pb224 on the bare grassy ground and could hear still hear static crackling coming through if I moved the equipment or connecting cables. I know a lot of this had to do with the dry weather where I was, but I'm sure not going to use a static-prone drybag to protect my gear anymore unless the rain is really pouring down. Has anyone suffered from similar static noise issues? Any ideas for a remedy? I welcome any suggestions, as I will soon be recording in dry static-prone mountains again. -John Hartog |
