I guess it should be pointed out that the 722's (and probably the 744
and 702) WAV files are "Broadcast Wave Format":

This records a variety of metadata, but in particular the date/time
the recording was made. So I just have the unit give "Txxxxx.wav"
names to the files (I don't care what the xxxxx is), but when I pull
files out of my unit, I have a small program that renames them to
yyyy/mm/dd/hhmmss.wav based on this metadata. As you note, it is
usually easier to find stuff by date.
