Here's a list of microphone preamps I think are suitable for field
use. I included devices that have two mic inputs, run on internal
batteries, and fit in a coat pocket.
I found 7 that have two mic inputs, and analog output.
Sorted by price, they are:
Chris Church ST-20B ($100)
Sound Professionals SP-Preamp ($180)
Reactive Sounds SPA-2 Boost Box ($200)
Felmicamps Battery Preamp ($200)
Sound Devices MP-1 ($300 one channel, so $600 for a pair)
Aerco MP2 ($750)
Sonosax SX-M2 ($1100)
Two more preamps had digital output only.
Denecke AD-20 ($325)
Core Sound Mic2496 ($550)
