The effect I've been interested in understanding
is akin to movement in the lowest frequencies in
a stereo or surround field. Helps to have
subwooferS.  Most of the phasing causes shifts in
volume from speaker to the other that one can
tell is not from the moving sound source. (As
with movment that happens in the lowsest
registers of the jet in No6 of Brian's mic test).
You can tell interference between the waves.  I
thought, what the heck, these interference
effects are from local reflections and as its
happens even when mics are spread 6", why not
experiment? Owl's seem to understand how it
