Minidisc Access, a company in the California foothills near
Sacramento, is offering the MZ-NH900 Hi-MD recorder for $199.
Shipping cost is reasonable at about $10 to USA desitnations. Here's
the link:

The NH900 is a discontinued model. Its successor is the MZ-RH910,
which costs $165 to $170. People are willing to pay extra for the
NH900 because it has a metal case, and because it has a large jog
wheel that is easier to use than the RH910's menu selection roller.
Otherwise, the two recorders seem identical to me.
The NH900, like the RH910, include a 950mAh "gumstick" rechargeable
battery. Sony's NH-14WM 1400mAh rechargeable works fine in these
recorders, and gives almost 50% longer recording time. Genuine Sony
NH-14WM batteries are available on eBay for about $15.
There are several vendors offering the NH900 right now. Minidisc
Access is the cheapest I've seen by about $25. These units were built
for the Australia market, so they have a 220V mains power adapter.
The recorders from Minidisc Access include a 110V to 220V transformer
so the recorder can be charged in USA and Canada.
The cheapest Hi-MD recorder is still the NH-700 for $130, includling
shipping. See Message 22405.
