The Telinga Twin Science is two directional mics, one facing outward,
one inward. It's not stereo but two mono options.

I assume you mean the Telinga Stereo mics? Each channel is several
boundary mic capsules connected together to raise gain and minimize self
noise. It records a sort of pear shaped stereo area, long and near mono
in the center. The sides are mostly more local ambiance.

I'm sure that the design like Lang's could be done with a variety of
mics. Simply a matter of machining appropriate mounts for the mics. As
you noted the MKH have a long history with nature recording for their
durability and reliability out in the environment. And they are very
high quality mics so hard to do much more than just match their
performance. In a parabolic I'm not sure how much the native sound
quality characteristic of a mic applies.
