Yes, but ... I have had problems with USB cards and Windows XP. It
happened on two separate cards, so I think they were not to blame. I
switched to Windows 2000 and had no trouble.

Not enough experience to say. Sorry. I'm happy with the M-Audio
Transit. My guess is that any brand-name card will be good enough for
this kind of transfer. Buy one with a money-back option.
