I said that some mic makers limit their output voltage on purpose, not to
stress the input amp. (When blowing the trumpet into the mic.)
Then Rob finds that the cable he has, HAS such a "on purpose" limitation.
R=F6de has obviously found that if you feed a trumpet signal from a high
output mic like NT1A into a consumer machine, you are likely to distort the=
input stage.
I find that interesting!
As I see it, some of us are trying to find (at last!!) standards for mic's=
which fit the naturesound recordist, instead of being in the hands of the
music standards.
