The "low" sensitivity setting works ok but sometimes the when I import to
Audition the amplitude is very low and when I increase the amplitude I think
I am also amplifying any MD pre noise at the same time so I would be happier
if I had some variable control over the mic sensitivity.

I wonder if anyone has simply used a variable resistor network (L-pad or
other) as an attenuator. My present thinking is that this would give me
more flexibility. I would appreciate being corrected if my reasoning is
wrong.

My other thoughts on a solution might be to send my PMD660 to Oade Brothers
for a pre mod.

Thanks.
Gene

So the "low sens" setting on the HiMD recorders isnt providing enough
attenuation? Something could be odd. How many dB's do you reckon you
need to attenuate?

Even when using the 183's? Rob D.
