I've never used a condenser that couldn't take at least a couple of
hours before flaking out, but waiting for one to dry out is no fun
when you want to be recording. Realistically, only the mkh's have
good chances in high humidity for long stretches of time. (i.e. I
had four condensers out all night before last in tropical humidity,
three were unaffected, one caked out).
The variable pattern and high transient response are interesting. As
a rule, you'd like to see a sensitivity number that's higher than the
self noise, in this case we're looking at 10 mV/Pa : 14 dB(A), but
the character of the noise is important too. Doesn't say what size
the capsule is, ~20mm I assume. The polar pattern looks like it.
There are bound to be some reviews on line. Though they'll probably
address acoustic instrument and drum applications, cymbals are a
pretty good test of high end smoothness. Rob D.
