Yup, I tried it with 16-bit and I cannot hear the hiss at all anymore. However, a 16 bit file at 44,100 is quite large, even for a 15 second recording.=20 How low can I go on the resolution without sacrificing audio quality? -----Original Message----- From: Jim Morgan Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2005 7:28 PM To: Subject: Re: [Nature Recordists] Hiss in My Recordings The 8 bit file may be the problem. See if 16 bit helps. Jim |
