Even without MacDrive there is little problem as all macs can handle PC
formatted disks.

I realized that minidisc was probably going to go downhill when the LP
modes were introduced. This is just another step in the chain that
started back then.
I figure the only way minidisc is going to be saved long term is if a
line is developed for high quality recording that's separate from the
mp3 craze. And I don't have a lot of hope of that. If HHb came out with
a recorder designed around the high end compression and uncompressed of
HiMD then there would be a chance. I don't think Sony is going to
consider it enough of a market. Nature Recordists are trivia when it
comes to market share.
