A heater may also improve noise figures, as membranes get stiff when cold.
Also electronics work better.
I have heard of people using those hand-heaters, where you lit a sort of
"tablet" which keeps "glowing" for some hours. But I don't remember if that=
was for keeping movie cameras working in Siberia.
