Delicately put and diplomatically worded, Martyn. As a European (a Kraut
no less), I'm used to being described by and using these sorts of
abbreviations for different people and they are not meant to be (or used
as) a derogatory term but rather a sort of familiar word. Everybody
knows what they mean and doesn't get offended by them, in any case you
can just ignore them (and the speaker/writer) if you feel they don't
apply to you. Anyway, that's enough of a rant from me.
