You can attach the MicTube directly to the K6 power module. Using a short cable extension between mic and MicTube is OK, and has the added advantage of allowing you to adjust the gain of the MicTube's preamp after the mic is encased in the wind cover. I'd feel a lot more comfortable recommending this device if I had the chance to actually use it first!
