This statement was made in comparison of the new hi-md atrac3plus to
pcm.

Don't forget to keep it in context that Hi-MD is dumbing down atrac
and will only support the old, higher quality, atrac for playback.
The quality of atrac we are currently using is being tossed in the
same bin as dat.

I have nothing good to say about where minidisc is going.
