In a out of list conversation on the why do you want higher sample
rates. I was asked if my mics can get close to the max of a 96khz
sample. Well I didn't know for sure so I tried my mic as a bat
detector tonight.
The old mkh-110 seems to have no problem capturing this bat up at
about 30,000 cycles.
The loud sound is a stone bouncing off my roof as I tossed the stone
in the air to attract the bat. Works every time to bring them in
closer. From the spectral display that was not needed.
24/96 uses some disk space. If you want to see how the mic
responded you are stuck with a 3.7 meg download at:

I still don't know how high a good mic can go.

Still haven't played with the resamples yet as this spring has been
hell on equipment. This week I blew a mom board in the laptop, the
cell phone extended antenna and handsfree charger, a van water pump,
and a cd burner. The reason this happened is because the warblers
arrived and I wanted to be out all the time. Machines know to brake
when there is urgency.
