Digital photographers have lots of experience making backup copies of
their work while traveling. Gadgets based on a small hard disc are
most popular, but they're vulnerable to damage and theft.=20
Seeking a more dependable backup system, several companies have
introduced battery operated CD recorders. Plug in your Compactflash
card, press the "copy" button, and in a few minutes you have a
verified copy burned onto CD. Compactflash larger than 650MB will
automatically be burned to two CDs.
Make two CD copies of the original. Keep one with you, and mail the
other home. So even if the recorder is stolen, you'll have the CDs.
One example is the Apacer CP200:

The CP200 plays DVD and VCD movies when hooked up to a TV. CDs with
MP3 and CD Audio file formats also can be played. (So maybe 16/44.1
WAV files will work?)
