NatureRecordists:

Nice investigative work by Lang, and good additions by Raimund and Marty. =
I'm still not caught up again, but can't resist adding my 2 cents.

What seems to have been proven by Lang's experiment is that most of the "qu=
iescent" signal comes from directions other than that of the axis of the re=
flector, such that the two mikes actually received uncorrelated signals. I=
suspect that any "quiescent" signal arriving on-axis of the reflector woul=
d be directly additive between the two channels, but that such components a=
re swamped by the majority being off-axis either left or right and therefor=
e not being received equally by both mikes.

Very interesting!

And congratulations, Doug, Mr. Mayor.

Good recording,
                              Randy
P.S. Have completed transcription of the text of my parabola paper, and am =
wrestling with the mathematical formulae and the graphical results. Stay t=
uned :-)
