You might consider the Creative Jukebox 3. No recording time limit, and
level controls on all inputs except digital. Line-in works best, though,
because the unit has no dedicated mic preamp, just a lot of amplification of
the line input for mic-in mode. I use the line-in mostly. A/D isn't bad at
all, so if you give it a clean signal you get a good recording. Add the
second battery and you can record a 6 hour .wav in one recording session.
Not that you'd want to.
