Right, a PDA has built-in memory and a slot for an extra memory card.
You can purchase memory cards with multiple gigabyte capacity, but
they are extremely expensive. Core Sound recommends that you
purchase an accessory for the PDA that adds a PC Card slot. Hard
discs up to 5GB capacity are available in PC Card packaging today.
The accessory also has extra batteries to run the hard disc so the
PDA battery life is not reduced.

While it's perilous to draw conclusions strictly from web page
descriptions, it looks to me that the Fostex FR-2 and Sound Devices
722 will be better solutions for 24/96 recording, and will cost about
the same as the Core Sound PDA setup.
