Dominique,

My wife was trying to download into Adobe Premiere for a video she's working
on. We don't have any good sound editing software yet. We're looking into
Cool Edit and Sound Forge. Any recommendations? It seems odd your computer
recognizes the Portadisc and Marty's doesn't. We'll try different cables.

John,

I am using the Portadisc with Windows XP, and I never had the slightest
problem with USB recognition... I regularly connect my Portadisc units to
various computers runing XP (laptop, desktops, etc.) and Windows XP never
failed to give me the little "beep" in the next 2 or 3 seconds after the
device had been connected...

I suppose you have already tried different cables ?

What software are you using to do the transfer ? In CoolEdit 2000, for
example, even though the Portadisc is identified by Windows as a sound
device, it will not automatically be selected as the input/output device.
The sound card is the "default" selected device. However, this is just an
selection to make from a menu.

I just bought an HHb Portadisc and was dismayed that Windows XP
doesn't recognize it as a USB device. The literature with the
minidisc player says it should download to Windows 95/98/2000/ME or
something, but doesn't mention XP. Has anyone faced this problem
before and cobbled together a solution?

(We do have an older PC we could probably download to, burn to a CD
and download from the CD to the new computer, but that seems
cumbersome.) (I also sent a message to hhbusa.com, but so far haven't
gotten a response.)

Any help would be appreciated.
