Rich and anyone else considering posting original recordings on the web
should check out the free licenses available at

http://www.creativecommons.org

They have licenses that allow the copyright holder to grant the public
additional rights that straight copyright law doesn't provide for. For
example, one of their licenses grants the user the right to redistribute
the work or incorporate it into other works so long as credit is given
to the original owner. Other variations allow redistribution only for
non-commercial projects. They are all designed for situations where
getting the work heard/used is more important to the copyright holder
than maintaining absolute control.
