I was a die hard reel to reel man, hated the poor quality compared to
good reel to reel, though I used both.  And really hated the lack of
durability. I don't miss any of it. We got a new set of problems moving
to digital, but they are trivia compared to the tape ones.

For me a lot of the crickets are a academic exercise, just getting too
old. I still enjoy the ones I can hear well. If I had the hearing I used
to have, I'd probably be out recording them.
