I note this is on the front page of the LC Tourism web site:
Bird
Watching draws “Twitchers” from far and wide. With part of the Lake now a Bird Sanctuary, two accessible Bird Hides, and the close proximity to the Round Hill and Nombinne Nature Reserves, there are ample opportunities to catch a glimpse and snap a pic of
a variety of rare and threatened species. Binoculars and Bird guides can be hired from The Lake Cargelligo Tourist Information Centre.
Cheers
Graham

I have sent a message to the Lake Cargelligo Birds FB group asking who has done this and why? It marks a major change in attitude by the town - they used to recognise the importance of
bird tourism to their economy.

Hi All,
I have not long got back from a road trip and saw some great birds, But it was disappointing to find out that the only access now to the LC treatment ponds is to the useless hide, the tracks either side have a sign stating no entry :(
I have since found out that we are not allowed on the fire trails on round hill, Whohey Tanks and Old Wheat Paddock for example, just the main roads.
Looks like LC is off my places to go from now on.
