We went for our first walk to the (Inter?)National Arboretum yesterday and - I suspect largely due to doing so in the early afternoon - found very few species of birds. The largest number were without doubt the Australian Magpies that were everywhere, presumably feeding on grasshoppers. However in the Buchan Blue Wattles next to STEP we did flush a Common Bronzewing, not included in the list circulated by Tony Lawson.
