The "Currawong food factory" is still in operation
- Currawong landed in front of me the other day in Holder carrying a young CP by
the scruff of the neck.
A couple of other recent suburban obs:
- in Kaleen a lone Yellow-tailed
Black-Cockatoo munching noisily on Hakea seeds
- back in Holder, a chorus of
raucous Currawongs accompanied by an obvious distress call from another
bird. As I went to investigate a tawny/brown bird emerged from cover with
about a dozen Currawongs in pursuit. They all disappeared in the direction
of Hindmarsh Drive. It looked about two thirds the size of the Currawongs
and I think it was probably a Boobook, though the call it was making was unlike
any sound I have ever heard coming from a Boobook. Any other
suggestions?
Cheers
Rod
