I observed a Fan-tailed Cuckoo on Saturday
morning in degraded bushland just beyond the south-eastern edge of
Queanbeyan and initially thought it noteworthy, but on returning home and
checking Steve Wilson's informative tome* 'Birds of the ACT - Two Centuries of
Change', found that some individuals stay over winter in this area so I didn't
trouble this chatline by reporting it.
Incidentally, are Stubble Quail worth
reporting?
Regards,
Leo.

at this weeks COG meeting as advertised in Beth Mantle's recent
