Today at the Black Mountain Nature Reserve - a male White-throated
Treecreeper feeding either a female or an immature. Going by the calling
and the displays I took it to be courtship behaviour between adults.
Many Buff-rumped Thornbills have paired off and are no longer with the
MFFs. Eastern and Crimson Rosellas were inspecting hollows. There was a
Black-faced Cuckoo-shriked at ANU last week and one at Black Mountain
Reserve yesterday, possibly the same bird.
Best MFF at Black Mountain reserve this morning included: White-throated
Treecreeper, Speckled Warbler, Buff-rumped Thornbill, Varied Sittella,
Striated Thornbill, Spotted Pardalote, Scarlet Robin and Grey Fantail.
On the way home caught a glimpse of aerial feeders - either Welcome
Swallows (the more likely) or martins, not sure which.
