During the past week, starting from about 7:00pm, flying foxes have
been visiting a large Ironbark (I think it is) tree just off Kerrigan
Street, Charnwood not far from the Fraser Neighbourhood Oval. The tree appears
to be in full flower – red blossoms. At first, numbers appeared fairly
small and they'd left by 8:00pm. Went twice to see them but they'd gone by the
time I arrived. Numbers seem to be increasing yesterday and today, and they were
kicking up a heck of a racket at 7:45pm this evening as they were when my friend
looked out at 1:00am Sunday. I assume they are Grey-headed Flying Foxes.
