I was lucky enough to see the 2 Spotless Crakes yesterday evening at
Namadgi Visitor's Centre. I had good views through the binos between 4.45
and 5.15 pm in perfect conditions.

Cheers

We saw 2 Spotless Crakes at the pond at the back of the Namadgi Visitor's
Centre this morning. We were leading our U3A Birdwatching Group on the
monthly outing.
Both birds gave us marvellous views through the telescope as they ran
around on the muddy shore while a Grey Teal swam along on the water. It
seemed they were each benefitting from the other one disturbing the water's
edge. Certainly, the Teal stuck to the water in close proximity to the
Crakes.

Compared to many other sites we have visited with this group we were
delighted to see a good variety of species including a Grey Butcherbird, a
big flock of WW Choughs and a pair of WT Eagles cruising overhead. And
several of the group thought they saw a male Hooded Robin in the treed area
though we didn't verify that.

A beautiful sunny morning and good company, altogether a great time to be
alive, if only it would rain.
