The latest Annual Bird Report (ABR) comments on the magnitude of the increase in abundance of this species in year 26 and there is no need to repeat that text here.
I have attached two graphs from the GBS showing the numbers of birds (note not the A value - that wasn't necessary for this brief analysis) for the sites in suburban Canberra. They are firstly by year (supporting the ABR analysis) and then by week over the 26 years (as we are currently in week 15 this supports Geoffrey's comment that this is peak butcherbird viewing time).
By restricting the population of the analysis to the sites in suburban Canberra there is no possible impact of rural sites in NSW in these data.
