Further to that: Someone (I don't think it says
who) has put up a little sign about these birds on a fence post near the gateway
at the entry to the reserve. It consists of some photos of the birds and a page
of text, just on paper in a plastic sleeve. Nice idea to do that and when there
we saw some people stop to read it, (you couldn't possibly miss seeing the
birds). I was curious at one word used, though. It mentions about the birds
"keening" in a context I could not follow. It was something about the young
being fed or something like that. Can someone enlighten me about that
one.
