Hi Philip

Didn't mean to infer that anyone got anything wrong and I am sure that Geoffrey's photos are correctly labelled.

From research I have done on the internet in the last 24 hours, it appears
that the Brown Goshawk does have a wide variation colour ranging from dark brown to slate grey. The colour variation doesn't seem to be confined to areas, but seems to be spread across their range. The shape of head, eye ridge and tail are far better ways of identifying the bird than the colour appears to be. Just hope the birds get it right!

I agree about the exhaustion!
