I thought of that when I wrote my other message but
recalled that this "European Condor" had been discussed on birding-aus some time
previously and the conclusion I think I recall offered by others then was that
it is a vulture, rather than the Lammergeier. Looking at distribution maps
suggest Griffon Vulture. That is not to say that the same local name could not
be applied to several different species, like "chicken hawk" or "kite hawk"
here.
