Red-tailed Black Cockatoos in Beenak forest

I'm surprised this hasn't been raised already, but Yellow-tailed
Black-Cockatoos aren't always (yellow tailed)!  In poor light, or presumably
if the plumage is dirty or worn, the yellow tail panels can appear slightly
orange or reddish.  I've had the discussion a few times with the birds right
in front of us - "Why are they called yellow-tailed? ... the tail is red!" -
and so on.

I think there's ample room for confusion when it comes to the great unwashed
identifying black cockatoos in Victoria ...

However, in the olden days, RTBCs occurred much further east in Victoria
than where they now cower in their reduced masses in the south-west.
