Dave...It all comes down to how you define things. If you are talking about
a list of birds you have seen, then I definitely would not tick it. Just
because a bird has been in your field of vision doesn't mean you have seen
it. Imagine if you were with a group of birders and they later said to you:
"Did you see the Black Noddy?" and you replied, "No", and then they said:
"Well, you were looking right at it!" You wouldn't tick it on the strength
of that would you? I think that, semantically, saying you have "seen"
something implies a conscious perception at the time of seeing. You have
'seen' a Black Noddy in your photograph, that is all. My opinion.
