Hi all,
I had this exact discussion with a Ground Parrot researcher last year and he
is of the opinion that Night Parrot is at best crepuscular (active at dawn
and dusk) and at worst outright diurnal (active during the day). We're
talking about a cryptic species, thinly spread across a large remote area.
Apparently Ground Parrot used to be considered nocturnal, because of the
times that it was observed calling, and it wasn't until detailed field
research was undertaken that the truth came out. I have to say he convinced
me of the possibility.
