There was concern expressed on birding-aus 2 years ago that QPWS
had pulled rangers out of some outback national parks into towns -
so Diamantina Lakes NP might not have any staff permanently on site.
The worry was not lack of support for birdwatchers - it was the effect
on vital feral animal control programs.
I'm with others, I cannot see valid concerns for conservation (or bird
watchers) that would justify withholding this information. QPWS/EPA is
apparently happy to use data collected by birdwatchers but seems less
willing to reciprocate.
