Yes.  Much will depend on whether you want to know about subspecies, which the 2-vol ‘Checklist’ supplies, in more than twice the number of pages as this new offering.  On the other hand you will get the HBW checklist text if you subscribe to Cornell Lab Birds of the World with which HBW has merged.  In theory, that is to be updated but you will probably have to wait until the digestion process has settled down after Cornell Lab’s huge swallow of some chunks of incompatible taxonomy.

Hi All,

If you purchase the two-volume set of the Illustrated Checklist of Birds of the World, by the same author and publisher, you get the same illustrations plus a brief text for each species.  More expensive than "All the Birds of the World", but not as expensive as the 17-volume complete set. I’ve found the two-volume set invaluable for both work and recreational purposes.

I ordered my copy a month or so ago, but as Phil says, could be a while before it arrives! Much more accessible than going to the 17-volume full set of HBW. And includes a range of quick-ref icon-info.

It’s due to be published this month, so heaven knows how long before they get here, but it will be a great thing to have with the species of all 4 major taxonomies illustrated, I plan to use it as a hard copy of my life list

Dear Fellow Birders,

Has anyone seen this book yet?

https://www.lynxeds.com/product/all-the-birds-of-the-world/

It contains beautiful illustrations of every bird in the world including
known extinct ones. I am not affiliated with this publisher or get
anything from mentioning it, I just think this book looks so amazingly
cool. It is only 65 euros... I already preordered my copy. I have been
waiting for a book like this for years!
