Hi Barney,
Try setting up the TV setting you would like to use - then open up the menu and
go to the SET UP Section (yellow spanner icon section) and find the Custom
Shooting mode - save your TV setting into one of the Custom Shooting Modes
(C1-C3). Now close the menu and turn the mode dial to the Custom Shooting Mode
you saved your TV setting to and give it a go. If it works fine you can now
just turn the dial to this setting to use TV mode - you can choose any shutter
speed you like, but if the camera is turned off or left idle for your standard
stand-down time it will revert to the shutter speed you saved in the menu -
easy to change if you find you’re using a different shutter speed for some
purpose.
If it works as it normally should, I’d say you have an issue with the TV
setting, if it is still playing up then there’s likely and issue with your
camera’s software, so I’d try going online and loading your camera with the
latest operating system - or reloading the one you have. It isn’t hard if you
just follow the instructions in your manual. If this doesn’t fix it I can’t
think of anything else, but a visit to the repair shop…..
All the best,
Allan
