I use a piece of commercially available software called BirdJournal from
Bluebird Technology. I have the "complete" version that covers all
countries. You can imput using either IOC / Clements or individual
countries adopted list such as C & B for Aus. It also has other non avian
taxa checklists such as Aus Butterflies / Mammals etc. The software is
updated regularly to reflect changed in classification. You can also add
photos and annotation for individual sightings at the moment it does not
handle videos or sound recordings but you can link via the comment
facility.
