Birdline Tasmania

Published sightings for the week ending 3 Aug 2014.
Sun 3 Aug Lewin's Rail Oyster Cove Aboriginal Land (Putalina)
This morning there were two Lewin's Rails observed feeding along the creek
edges. The morning light was better than previous visits allowing good
views and photographs.
Els Wakefield, Mona Loofs-Samorzewski and Rob Hamilton

Sat 2 Aug Lewin's Rail Oyster Cove
As per last sighting. Seen from 9am until we left at 10am. Foraging at
either side of the bridge. Was seen to eat a crab and some snails.
Reasonably skittish - even small birds (wrens and silvereyes) flying by
sent it running, but it would come back out after a short period of time.
Conditions were mainly sunny but with some sunshowers. Tide was moderately
low but rising.
