Blue-faced Honeyeater
Kewarra Beach / Cairns
Noticed that there are few sightings reported of Blue-faced Honeyeaters in Cairns. None since 2011. Had 2 landing in my garden this morning (1 male & 1 juv), but they received a rather hostile reception by the locals including Spangled Drongos. Saw another two about 5 minutes later and again flying in from the mountains, but unsure whether just the same birds.

Great birding in this distant place.
Night birds very active and approachable. Hunting nightjars this evening.
