Crested Shrike-tit
Wondecla State Forest, including Springvale Road
About half way between the grid and the turnoff to the cattle yards, in a tall lemon-scented gum. First noted by single call which was not repeated, the bird spent 10 minutes feeding high in the gum tree providing good views if difficult photographic opportunities. ID Photo only. Seen at 3.00 pm. Single adult seen although others may have been around. (Moderator Note:- This is a regular location for this hard to see species in the far north).

After 15 years of abject failure, finally landed this one. The bird, as usual, gave little opportunity for a studio quality portrait. All credit to Del for making the initial sighting.
