Barn Owl
The Australian National University
There's a barn owl outside my office, shrieking like an agent of hell. Not very conducive to getting work done!

Diamond Firetail
North Curtin Horse Paddocks
Adult calling from small bush before being flushed. Later found in tree occasionally calling whilst preening. This paddock has not been grazed for 2yrs. [Moderator's comment: The observer states that he has never seen this species at the location in 22 years. There is one previous report for the Curtin horse paddocks (on 6/8/2011) of one with a nest.
